Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines for a change of grade to facilitate timely progress for the student’s program completion. This policy is intended to reflect the University’s commitment to student success goals.
Scope
This policy applies to all students at Mercer University.

Policy Statement
All grades (except ABX/ABXSU, IC/ICSU, and IP) are final when submitted to the Office of the Registrar by the instructor. Changes to grades may only be initiated by an instructor when the original grade resulted from an error or when the original grade was ABX/ABXSU, IC/ICSU, and IP.
Grade changes initiated by an instructor when the original grade resulted from an error must be changed within 12 months of the original date that the grade was due. Such a change may not occur once a degree to which the course was applied has been conferred or the student has been in non-attendance status for 12 months since the original date that the grade was due.
