Policy Statement

Disruptive or dangerous behaviors can result in students being removed from classroom participation. In such cases, the student will be referred to the University Judicial System.

Students may be required to withdraw themselves from a class upon the recommendation of the course instructor to the Associate Dean. This recommendation may occur if the student’s number of absences exceeds the maximum described in the attendance policy of the course syllabus, the Mercer University catalog, or special accommodations to which the student may be entitled. The student’s failure to withdraw from the class by the published deadline will result in a failing grade for the course.
