Purpose
Study rooms are available for students in the Tarver Library on the Macon campus.
Scope
This policy applies to all currently enrolled students at Mercer University, including law and medical students.

Policy Statement
Study rooms that can accommodate 1 to 6 people are available for use by currently registered Mercer students.
- Circulation staff may ask a student to present Mercer University identification (Bear Card). Failure to present a Bear Card when requested could result in the student being asked to vacate the study room.
- Study rooms are available on a first-come, first served basis and may not be saved or reserved.
- Food and non-alcoholic drinks are allowed in the library and individual study spaces except in Special Collections, the Jack Tarver Room, and any area with a posted sign.
- Tobacco, including vaping, is not permitted in study rooms.
- Personal heaters, surge protectors, and extension cords are not permitted in study rooms.
Failure to abide by this policy may result in immediate restriction from the study rooms and review of violations under the Student Code of Conduct.
Mercer University is not liable for the loss of, or damage to, personal property in a Tarver Library study room, unless such loss or damage is a direct result of University negligence and not the result of fault or negligence on the part of the owner. Any theft should be reported to Mercer Police.
